Quantum Break puts players in the shoes of Jack Joyce, who has ability to manipulate time. The game is played from a third person perspective. Quantum Break was supposed to be a sequel to the game, Alan Wake, but then the company focused their mind in a different dimension and made it stand it for itself. 
The time manipulation system is not like the one in Prince of Persia and Max Payne game series, but it is rather complete control over time. When you use the ability, the time freezes and everything comes to a stop except you. 
There are a couple different types of enemies, just like in many other games. The enemies range from strikers to juggernauts, strikers being the easiest and juggernauts being the toughest. There are a number of tactics that you can opt in order to defeat them. Along with the action element in the game, there is also a puzzle element that requires you to complete a puzzle in order to progress through the game. This can be fun, but sometimes it gets annoying because they are tough to solve.

The game has been praised and there are more good things about this game than bad one's.
